Couple Therapy: A Differentiation-Based Approach to Relationship, Intimacy, and Sexual Problems

Differentiation is a powerful approach for working with couples. Problems in relationships often surface around issues of sex, money, children, and in-laws. Increasing differentiation is the process required to get through these impasses and enhance relationships. It entails the willingness to be accountable for one’s own emotional being and destiny while staying in meaningful contact with one’s partner.

This course is designed to provide training in the theory and application of differentiation-based therapy with diverse couples having relationship, intimacy and sexual difficulties. You will gain a clear understanding of how problems develop and how to help couples change. The principles of differentiation will become your road map as to how to conceptualize and intervene with couples. Most importantly you will begin to understand how your own level of differentiation and personal development is a fundamental determinant of your therapeutic effectiveness.
