March and April SIG, Club, and Networking meetings open to ALL - you do not have to be a member of LACPA to attend.

Please save the date, Sunday April 15th,  from 9:00 - 11:30.  We will be hiking a loop trail starting at the end of Victory Boulevard in Woodland Hills.  This location is called Victory Trailhead and is part of the Ahmanson Ranch Preserve.  This location is reached by exiting the 101 freeway (from the east or the west) at Valley Circle Drive.  You will proceed north on Valley Circle about 2 miles, to Victory Blvd.  Turn left and proceed .8 miles to the top of the hill and the entrance to the parking area.  There is a large sign that identifies VICTORY TRAILHEAD.  You can park in the lot for a fee, or you can drive back out and park further down the hill or on the first side street for free and then walk back into the parking lot.  We will meet at the far end of the parking lot where the trails begin.  There is a restroom at the trailhead.  The trails are mostly wide and easy and with mostly gentle inclines and declines.  While hiking boots are recommended they are not essential on this trail.  Dogs are permitted if they are on a leash. Bring water and a snack, and dress according to the weather!

I was going to say more, but I think that the photograph speaks for itself.  The hills are alive with masses of green grass, and there are exquisite views of the San Fernando Valley and the undeveloped hills of this protected area.

SIGS and CLUBS are open to non-LACPA members in March and April of each year.  Please feel free to bring your colleagues, including allied professionals who may consider joining (psychiatrists, educational therapists, Speech/Language specialists, MFT’s….).  Your spouses/partners/significant others and older children and teens are also welcome to join us for the hike.

Please RSVP to Andi Ackerman, Ph.D. at andiackerman@aol.com.  Please provide me with your cell phone number in case of last minute changes. Plan to come out and join the fun.
