Differentiation/ Treatment of ASD and ADHD in Children

DSM 5’s diagnostic classification of autism spectrum disorder and ADHD recognize the similarities of these two neurodevelopmental disorders. This presentation will focus in on the question of whether these disorders are on the same spectrum. Clinical vignettes will be examined to create practical solutions to complex developmental and regulatory problems.
Esther B. Hess, Ph.D., (PSY16090) is a developmental psychologist and executive director of a multidisciplinary treatment facility in West Los Angeles, Center for the Developing Mind. Additionally, Dr. Hess is an author and national and international speaker on the subject of differentiations between ASD and ADHD and DIR/Floor Time as a best practice model of treatment.

The NEW LACPA office address is THE ENCINO OFFICE PARK, 6345 Balboa Blvd, Building 2, Suite 126, Encino, CA 91316 - second building from Balboa Blvd., conveniently located near ample free daytime/weekday street parking on Balboa Blvd, south of Victory Blvd. Both sides of Balboa have all day free parking. There is also plenty of free parking at the Sepulveda Basin Sports Complex on the west side of Balboa, south of Victory, 6201 Balboa Blvd. (2nd driveway past the Busway). 2-3 minute walk to the office door. Wherever you park, please check the signs.
Parking at The Encino Office Park lot between the hours of 9 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. is restricted to building tenants only. Do not park in the lot at the building.
Certification of Attendance for Continuing Education Credit

Attendance is limited to 50 LACPA members. Should you have a friend or colleague who would like to attend, please have them join LACPA before they send in this registration form. Programs subject to change.
The Los Angeles County Psychological Association (LACPA) is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. LACPA maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
This course may be taken to satisfy California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) continuing education requirements.
It is important to note that APA continuing education rules require that LACPA only give credit to those who attend the entire workshop. An evaluation of the workshop must be completed. Those who arrive more than 5 minutes (for a 1.5 hour program) after the scheduled start time or leave before the workshop is complete will not receive CE credit. Partial credit may not be given.
