Biography for Dr. Kenneth Ravizza:


Dr. Ravizza is one of the leading and most sought after sports psychology consultants in the country. Over 20 years experience with elite athletes and teams put him in a class of his own.


Ken Ravizza, Ph.D., is currently best known for his current work with the reigning world champion Chicago Cubs. A former professor of physical education at California State University-Fullerton and one of the top sports psychology consultants in the United States, has worked with the U.S. Olympic field hockey, water polo, and equestrian teams, numerous individual Olympic and national-level competitors, the University of Nebraska football team and the NFL's New York Jets.


His baseball experience dates to 1980 when he became involved with the team at California State-Fullerton (which won the 1984 national championship) and since 1985 has worked in all levels of the Anaheim Angels organization as a sport psychology instructor. He has worked with many collegiate programs, including UCLA and Arizona. He also has worked with international teams in India, Ireland, Sweden, and Australia, and has been featured in numerous publications, including The Sports Psychologist and Collegiate Baseball. He is the author of Heads up Baseball: Playing the game one pitch at a time.
