How it Alters the Course of Your Clients' Lives

New research highlights how living with traumatically encoded events impact brain functioning often without resulting in the development of a Trauma or Stress-Related Disorder. This talk advances understanding of the neurobiology of traumatically encoded events, explores the impact on symptom presentation, and discusses methodologies for reducing the impact of traumatically encoded events.
Kate Truitt. Ph.D., M.B.A., is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PSY26309) in private practice in Pasadena, CA. She is the Founder of Viva Excellence, a Trauma Training Institute. She holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, a M.A. in Psychology, emphasis Psychophysiology, and a M.B.A. in Health Care Administration. Dr. Truitt specializes in the treatment of psychological trauma and stress-related disorders.

The NEW LACPA office address is THE ENCINO OFFICE PARK, 6345 Balboa Blvd, Building 2, Suite 126, Encino, CA 91316 - second building from Balboa Blvd., conveniently located near ample free daytime/weekday street parking on Balboa Blvd, south of Victory Blvd. Both sides of Balboa have all day free parking. There is also plenty of free parking at the Sepulveda Basin Sports Complex on the west side of Balboa, south of Victory, 6201 Balboa Blvd. (2nd driveway past the Busway). 2-3 minute walk to the office door. Wherever you park, please check the signs.
Parking at The Encino Office Park lot between the hours of 9 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. is restricted to building tenants only. Do not park in the lot at the building.

Attendance is limited to 50 LACPA members. Should you have a friend or colleague who would like to attend, please have them join LACPA before they send in this registration form. Programs subject to change.
The Los Angeles County Psychological Association (LACPA) is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. LACPA maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
This course may be taken to satisfy California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) continuing education requirements.
It is important to note that APA continuing education rules require that LACPA only give credit to those who attend the entire workshop. An evaluation of the workshop must be completed. Those who arrive more than 5 minutes (for a 1.5 hour program) after the scheduled start time or leave before the workshop is complete will not receive CE credit. Partial credit may not be given.
