RE: LACPA Foundation Scholarship for 2018-2019

Dear Coordinators,

LACPA Foundation is the non-profit, charitable, and educational arm of the Los Angeles County Psychological Association.

The Foundation promotes the mental health and well-being of Greater Los Angeles, through fund raising, sponsoring educational programs, and donating funds to such groups as The Soldier Project, providing mental health services to returning veterans and their families, The Trevor Project, who provide a 24-hour hotline that serves the LGBT community, and The Miracle Project, an innovative social skills program serving individuals with autism and their families.

In addition, The Foundation offers The Foundation Scholarship—$1000 awards to two graduate students in the Los Angeles area, who provide services to individuals and groups identified as especially needy in our communities. Each year the Foundation considers the needs of different groups and chooses the theme for the year.

Attached please find the flier and application materials for The Foundation Scholarship. We hope that you will make them known and available to your students. Past recipients have made it clear that these funds make a great difference in their lives and are a clear indication that their compassionate work and dedicated study are encouraged and rewarded.

We thank you for your assistance and look forward to answering any questions that you or your students may have about the Scholarship.
