BOP NOTICE OF MODIFICATIONS TO CE/CPD

BOP NOTICE OF MODIFICATIONS TO CE/CPD

The Board of Psychology has issued a 15-Day notice of modification to the text of the Continuing Education Regulatory Proposal. Comments may be made on the changes to the proposed text until March 24th at 5:00 p.m.

Instructions on providing comment can be found here:

http://www.psychology.ca.gov/laws_regs/sec_15_notmod.pdf

A link to the modified language can be found here:

http://www.psychology.ca.gov/laws_regs/sec_mod_prop_reg.pdf

Note:  You will see that the underlined language is the proposed language.  Also, note the change from 18 to 27 for the cap on traditional ("sponsored”) CE credit.

Dr. Jo Linder-Crow, CEO of CPA has offered the following suggestions:

·         This is an opportunity to comment on the changed language (or "modified text”).

·         You are not "voting” on this.  You can offer your comments about the change from 18 to 27 credits; you might like that change but wish it were 36 and that’s what you should say if that’s the case.  In essence, the BOP is required to review (at the next BOP meeting,  May 14-15 ) any negative comments about the proposed change. The proposal is now for a 27 Credit cap, so please focus your comments on your opinion about the 27 credit cap.  If you don’t like that cap, focus on saying that and explain why you don’t like the cap at 27.

·         By the way, if you DO like the regulations as they are now written, you can say that as well.

Documents related to the proposed changes can be found here: http://www.psychology.ca.gov/laws_regs/index.shtml#proposedlaws

Note the deadline of 5:00 pm on March 24th.  Comments received after this deadline will NOT be reviewed by the BOP
