Saturday, April 27, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM

Topic: New Directions in the use of QEEG assessment and Neurofeedback for athletes with ADD/ADHD, Aspergers and Concussion/TBI.

Speaker: Dr. Michael Linden

Location: The Institute for Girls' Development Building,
                  95 N. Marengo Ave., Suite 100

Dr. Linden is the director of Attention Learning Center (ALC) and Attention Performance Center, which has been one of the pioneers in using QEEG to assess ADD, head injuries, concussions and dementia in athletes and using different types of Biofeedback and Neurofeedback to treat the symptoms of post-concussion symptoms. Dr. Linden is a licensed Clinical Psychologist, Nationally Certified Senior Fellow in Biofeedback/ Neurofeedback. Dr. Linden works with athletes with concussions/head injuries, ADHD and Aspergers. He has worked with elite athletes in major sports as football, hockey, MMA, baseball, soccer, motor cross, and NASCAR.

Over the past decade, athletes in contact sports, particularly football. have been increasingly developing dementia and CTE from head injuries. Recently, Dr. Linden has been one of the research sites for QEEG evaluation and clinical studies of Direct Neurofeedback (Ultra Low Pulse Electric Current EEG Biofeedback) with retired NLF players with Dementia, which have had promising results in both cognitive and physical symptoms.

Dr. Linden published (Biofeedback Magazine, 2015) an article where he was able to assess two concussions in a soccer player and successfully treat the symptoms of both, allowing the student to reduce and eliminate her post-concussion symptoms, including constant severe headaches, and remain in school and continue to achieve high academic standards. Dr. Linden has presented his research and clinical experience with QEEG and Neurofeedback with athletes with ADHD, Aspergers and concussions/TBI at the 2012 London Summer Olympics, the Sport Neuropsychology Society meeting in Minnesota in 2013 and the Sport Concussion Summit at UCLA in 2018. He is an editor and author of the book: Applications of Biofeedback and Neurofeedback in Sport Psychology.
