Topic: The Creative Process: The Art of Transformation

Description: The intention of this workshop is to look at the creative process as a tool for transformation, and to provide hands-on experience through art.  In art, as it is in life, one’s healing power lies not only in the ability to be open to new possibilities, but to create consciously a new reality. When this occurs and it is emotionally felt and recognized, ease and enjoyment become part of the journey and a new freedom can take place.

Everyone has the ability to create, but we have been taught and trained otherwise. The workshop offers a safe, supportive environment to get familiar with the process of transformation. With graphite and a sheet of paper, we will have the opportunity to feel, explore, and intuitively transform the emerging images, and uncover some of the hidden meanings therein.

Speaker Bio: Dr. Chantal Berclaz grew up in Geneva, Switzerland and has spent her life between Canada and the U.S., living in Malibu for the last 25 years.

She has an interdisciplinary background, including 16 years in practice as a clinical psychologist and 25 years as an artist and art instructor teaching formal and intuitive work--all of which has deepened her appreciation of the healing power inherent in creative processes where one is engaged in self-discovery and building self-compassion.

Dr. Berclaz has the unique ability to provide a learning space that is enjoyable and where anyone can succeed regardless of the person’s background or experience. Her understanding is that, with the facilitation of a safe environment and an open and receptive mind, we can tap into our own wisdom and creative ability.
