Guest Speaker Panel: Leora Raikin and Sushi Frausto, LMFT

Leora Raikin

Title: "Spiritual Renewal through Art"

Leora is passionate about using art as a means to educate. As founder of the David Labkovski Project, she shares the trauma and historical experience of her great uncle, artist David Labkovski  (1906-1991) from the depths of despair in a Siberian Prison to spiritual renewal in Israel. Through self-portraiture, she tracks his emotional journey through history, time and world events. Leora is a passionate and inspiring international speaker and a fiber artist. She has lectured at West Point Military Academy, Chapman University, Lithuania, South Africa, Europe, and Mexico.

Sushi Frausto, M.A., LMFT

Title: "Art Healing for Mind and Body"

Sushi Frausto is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT#101031) who specializes in Expressive Art Therapy. "I love working with children and their families, using art to help grow personal strengths, resiliency and emotional wellness."  Her panel presentation addresses expressive arts as a tool for processing, self-regulation, and validation. With permission from her client, she will share therapeutic art that reflects committed action and the healing process. Sushi received her Expressive Arts Therapy training at the California Institute of Integral Studies and Drama Therapy training at the Living Arts Institute. Her practice applies the use of art materials, drama, music, poetry, writing, play and all forms of creative expression to engage with her clients. Along with her general pediatric practice at the Institute for Girls' Development, Sushi is part of the Wellness Team where she focuses on supporting youth with chronic health issues.
